Going through a relationship breakdown can be a stressful time.
This is even more true when you’re a small business owner as your personal life begins to impact on your business.
For the last 10 years, I have been a small business owner just like you.
During this time, I have seen first hand the impact that a divorce can have on a business, not only for the person going through the divorce but also the other business partners, staff and clients.
When it comes to divorce & separation, small business owners have more complexities in their matter than somebody on a salary would encounter. These may include:
- Having difficult conversations with your business partners about the need for business valuations as part of the separation, made even more complicated when there are multiple entities at play;
- Financing, Family trusts and tax-related complexities; and
- Your spouse is working in or being a co-owner of the business with you.
Whatever your challenges are, I will be able to help you navigate the legal process and work with you to help minimise the impact it has on your business.
